Lucky Merritt

Lucky, you are so much a part of me that saying goodbye is almost too hard to do.

You were my friend, loyal throughout hard times and the birth of my two children, you gave me everything you had to comfort me when life hurt me.

I wish I could have taken away your final pain sooner, I would bear anything for you, my little love. I find facing life now without you really hard, you were my comfort and support and I’m bereft without you.

But I know how I loved you, I know what we shared, I know that when I came and saw you at the rescue centre all those years ago something passed between us and that will never die.

We will always be together in spirit. I love you more than anything else ever, my best friend. Lucky.
