What is a LifeGem?
The LifeGem is a certified, high quality diamond created from the carbon of a loved one as a memorial to their life. The process can use ashes or a lock of fur or a combination of the two. It is the small percentage of carbon within these materials that is used to create a LifeGem diamond.
What Quantity of Ashes or Fur is needed to make a LifeGem?
A Maximum of 200 grammes. A minimum of 5 grammes can be used for the smallest LifeGem. If larger diamonds are required then some natural carbon can be added to create the diamond.
Similarly a maximum of 2.5 grammes of fur would be needed. This would be more than enough to create several LifeGem diamonds. The ashes cannot be returned to you so you will need to consider how much of the ashes you would like to keep
Are LifeGem created diamonds, real diamonds?
Yes. The LifeGem is identified as an authentic diamond by gemologists trained at the world renowned Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The LifeGem has the same brilliance, fire and hardness as any high quality natural diamond.
What does certified mean?
The LifeGem, like a natural diamond, is certified by gemologists trained by the Gemological Institute of America, which is the same process as used by leading jewelers.
What sizes can be made?
Can I see the process?The actual diamond is created in USA. However, LifeGem have a local office in Hassocks and you are welcome to visit to see samples of the diamonds and discuss any matters.
How is and order placed?
We can supply an order form for you. We will apportion the correct amount of ashes and/or fur and deliver to LifeGem. A deposit of 50% of the order is required. You are welcome to discuss the order directly with LifeGem and, as this is an expensive order, we advise you to think carefully before going ahead.
