Communal Pet Cremation Service

For those of you who do not want or perhaps are unable to afford our individual cremation service we provide a genuine communal pet cremation option. The handling is the same as the individual service but several pets are cremated together. All pets are handled with care and respect and are carefully placed side by side in the cremation chamber. All the ashes are buried in the Pet Cemetery here at Chestnut Lodge. You may not have any ashes back with this service as all the pets’ ashes are mixed together.

You may bring your pet to us or we can collect from your veterinary surgery.

Care and Respect in Handling Your Pet at All Times

If your veterinary surgery uses us for all their cremations then your pet will normally be collected on one of two days during the week. You will usually be invoiced by the veterinary practice for the service. We have a number of surgeries to collect from and for the collections we use a medium wheelbase Renault Transit van. However, within the van the pets are placed into containers to ensure a dignified transportation. They are never place on top of each other but are carefully placed side by side in the containers. We feel this is far superior to attempting to collect in an estate car where the pets would have to be in much closer contact. Some establishments make a point about collecting in cars rather than vans but that generally results in a vehicle being overloaded with pets and problems with them moving around and causing a mess. With our system our driver can easily walk inside to move the containers within the van and ensure all the pets are safe. Our level of handling is very rare in the pet cremation sector and is one factor that goes towards establishing us as the top service in the UK.

At the end of the cremation cycle the ashes are taken to the Pet Cemetery here at Chestnut Lodge and placed into a large grave that is used for a period of time. The grave is surrounded by a closed fence and there is a memorial bed adjacent to it where plaques and other pet memorials may be placed.
