Chestnut Lodge is situated on the Sussex and Surrey border and our Pet Crematorium and Pet Cemetery among the oldest and most respected in the UK. All our Pet Cremation services are genuine and carried out to the highest standards. We are a complete service providing pet owners with a choice of individual or communal cremation, burial including family plots for full burial or burial of ashes, scattering of ashes or memorial plots and plaques.

The Pet Crematorium provides both a genuine individual pet cremation service and a communal pet cremation service that adhere to the standards set down by the Association of Private Pet Cemeteries and Crematoria (APPCC). These standards ensure you receive the service you expect from a cremation and are based on the standards applicable to human cremation services. We serve clients all over the Sussex and Surrey areas as well as London and Kent.

If go to our "Pet Cremation and Burial Articles" menu you can read what should be be happening when you choose a cremation or burial service. Unfortunately the standards in the pet bereavement industry are generally very poor and you are unlikely to get the service you expect unless you go to a reputable establishment. The Association of Private Pet Cemeteries and Crematoria (APPCC) were the first organisation in Europe to set standards for the pet bereavement industry and are still the only group setting a Code based on protecting the pet owner.
Veterinary practices do not understand what is required to carry out a pet cremation and usually make the wrong choices in selecting a company to work with in the mistaken belief that all so-called pet cremation services are the same. They are not and genuine ones are few and far between. If your vet does not normally use Chestnut Lodge for their pet cremation services then please contact us and we can make arrangements with the surgery to handle the cremation or burial of your pet. If you do not live close enough to us then we can direct you to your nearest member of the APPCC.
